Crystal and Andrew

This is the album posting for Crystal and Andrew's wedding on August 4th. The ceremony was held at First United Methodist Church of Covington. The reception was located at the Conyers pavillion, located in Old Town Conyers, and provided a spectacular location for photography. One thing to keep in mind when viewing the flip album, the software is designed to showcase a square 10x10 format and this album was designed as an 11x8.5. There will be a band of white at the top and bottom of the pages that are not actually part of the design.

Trash The Dress Session

After seeing some work done by Matt Adcock (www.strobist.blogspot.com) I really wanted to offer this type of session to my clients for a while now but it is really hard to explain exactly what a "Trash the Dress" session is. Many brides have adopted the tradition of preserving the dress putting it in a box in the attic with the hope that one day their daughter will want to wear it for her wedding. Suffice it to say, none of the brides that I have photographed in the past eight years have worn a dress handed down to them by their mothers. Your wedding day is more likely than not, the only time that this dress will ever be worn. With all of the time spent searching for the perfect dress and all of the money spent on it, shouldn't you have some truly unique photographs of it?
To give everyone a better idea of what a Trash the Dress session entails I personally went out and purchased a wedding dress and photographed as if it were the day after. This album should give you a better idea of what you can expect from a Trash the Dress session.

Just in case you were wondering, the dress sustained very little damage other than getting wet, a little dirt from the river bottom and a small hole in the train (the hole is not unlike the damage that I seen made by a pair of high heels during the reception.) I will post photos of the dress when it returns from the cleaners for the skeptics. Remember that I'm not out to see how much damage we can do to your dress only how much fun it can be getting some truly amazing photos of you after your big day.

Moonlight Photos at Lake Wedowee

I just got back from a trip to Lake Wedowee in Alabama where I had the opportunity to take some pictures of some of my former students. I decided to use only available light, which in this case was the moonlight, for all of the images. We found a floating dock around 12:30 a.m. and began shooting. A stationary platform would have probably been a better choice but we made do with what we had available. The photos have an unusual look to them due to the long shutter speeds and limited light. Thanks to Nikkilee Mason (Miss American Georgia Teen 2006) for her willingness to loose a little sleep and model for the shoot.

Time to enter the world of blogging

Ok, I admit it... I am now a blogger!

I am just outside of Atlanta and I’m getting prepared for a meeting to hopefully book the last wedding that I can fit into my summer schedule. We will be traveling to Japan this summer so be sure to check back and take a look at the images. I love my job and the freedom to travel that it allows. It is always a different adventure and experience. Photographing weddings has always been exciting for me, I like to blend in to the crowd like an old friend and capture the candid moments of the event. I will be changing my website (www.briancoleart.com) soon to make booking, payments and scheduling easier.

Anyway, this is my first attempt at blogging. As of right now, I haven't told anyone about it so basically I am talking to myself (what else is new?). Eventually I'll share it with friends and clients. I just wanted a place to share some images, experiences and random thoughts. I am going to start it off with a picture of myself so if any strangers find the site, they'll know who I am.
